Dirt-resistant: Ceramic tiles do not retain residues and are therefore easy to clean using standard household materials. In Fact, another characteristic is that once cleaned, ceramic tiles will retain their shine without being polished.

Stain resistant: In general, Ceramic tiles resist stains & can easily be cleaned. However, the stain resistance of the ceramic tile will depend on the properties of the clay and the quality of the tile.

Slip resistant: Ceramic tiles are usually slip resistant due to the use of patterns. Unglazed ceramic tiles are known for being used for surfaces with a high probability of moisture spill.

Colour permanence: Color is added into or on top of the ceramic tile body when the moulding process occurs & will therefore never fade.

There are six types of natural stone tiles used namely: Marble, Granite, Slate, Sandstone, Limestone and Travertine.

Marble

Marble is a very resilient natural stone tile that is available in a variety of patterns and different colors. In fact, Marble can be made slip-resistant, and is easy to clean. In addition, Marble also enhances the luxury of a home.

Granite

Granite is defined as a hard-edged stone with a natural grain. It is also suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Slate

Slate is a porous stone. As a result, it is very easy to cut and turn into sheets. Colors of slate include black, gray, green, purple, red and other mixed combinations. More importantly, it can be effectively used in dry and wet areas of the house. In order to keep slate beautiful and strong, it’s recommended to apply penetrating stone sealers every two to three years.

Sandstone

Sandstone is available in unique variations of color & grain. The various types of sandstone tiles mimic the look of beach/desert sand, golds, reds, browns, and more. These stones are strong enough to last for decades if properly cared for. Sandstone is highly durable due to its rocky characteristics.

Limestone

Limestone tiles can be found in an enormous range of colors that include greys and blacks, greens and blues, yellows, browns and off whites. Due to its beauty, Limestone can easily be incorporated into different interior decorating styles. Furthermore, sandstone is a naturally porous and soft stone that can be sanded for a polished look or machine-tumbled for a rougher natural look.

Travertine

Travertine is related to Limestone but is usually less expensive. In general, travertine matte is used outdoors, for example pool surrounds. However, Travertine is porous and do not heat up easily. When used indoors, Travertine is treated with resin to fill in the pores can then be locked in with sealant. These tiles are available in colors like gold, ivory and cream, and more.

Stone mosaics 

Stone materials are used for the design pattern. Through the use of more sophisticated technologies like Waterjet, elegant designs can be created.

Glass

Glass can be used to create a variety of shapes. For example: transparent, opaque and mirrored. An added benefit of using glass in mosaic tiles is the bouncing of light around in the room.

Medallions and murals

This type of mosaic tile entails the cutting of stone into swirling curves and thin pieces using waterjet technology. The end result is the creation of designs that look like medallions or murals.

Etched stone

With Etched stone tiles, lines can be “carved” into the tiles, creating a specific design. In other words, the creation of a sculptured-like effect on the tile.

Vinyl flooring is made solely from synthetic material. The vinyl flooring comprises a base layer manufactured from fiberglass, coated in PVC vinyl & a plasticizer. Usually, vinyl flooring sheets get a surface print layer. Wear layers are applied over the paint layer together with a layer of no-wax polyurethane.
